The standard of cleaning on the upturned bogie is as good as elsewhere on
the loco's components. This is the view from the leading end. The lack of
paint on the surfaces that normally face the ground is clearly visible, though
it does not seem to have deteriorated as a result, probably due to the thick
layer of oil it normally carries.
