The Trust publishes a quarterly magazine, Chime, for members. This started as a newsletter in the 1960s and today the magazine features the latest news of our locomotive along with technical articles, features, pictures, railtour reports and members' correspondence.

In addition to Melvin Haigh's excellent series of articles on boilers, tenders and A4 names Chime has featured articles on:

• Memories of Doncaster works by Allan Garraway.
• An appreciation of Silver Link's historic press run in 1935 to celebrate the 70th anniversary.
• The story of Sir Nigel Gresley's Knighthood by Dr Geoffrey Hughes.
• Memories of Retford in the 1950s.
• Boiler Maintenance costs.

Chime welcomes articles for publication connected with Sir Nigel Gresley, LNER, etc. Articles may be handwritten or electronic. We also welcome photographs old and new. If you require the photographs to be returned please indicate in a covering letter. It is helpful if you could mark the photos on the reverse with your name and details (e.g. date, location etc.) We also welcome electronic photos of recent events, LNER engines on the mainline etc.

Articles may be submitted by non-members, who will receive a complementary copy of the magazine if the article is published.

Spring edition - 25th February
Summer edition - 26th May
Autumn edition - 23rd August
Winter edition - 15th November
